When I was initially invited to participate in WomxnHouse Detroit, I had just recently found out that I was pregnant. Halfway through the planning process of this project, and at 8 weeks pregnant, I had a heartbreaking miscarriage. The pain of releasing was something unlike a loss I had ever experienced, both emotionally and physically. Blossoming out of this devastation, however, was an even deeper understanding and appreciation of the womb. She is a powerful source. A place of wisdom, nurturing, and healing. She is the center of creation, and of destruction, existing in the cyclical rhythm of birth and death. It is here, in this home, where we commune with our first true understandings of self, and connection.
You are invited to take a moment inside the womb to reconnect with yourself, to honor the feelings that arise and let go into the abyss.
